Amorelia is one of Costa Mesa's hidden gems. They've got lovely ambiance, lighting, music & decor. The food is incredible, you can taste the love in every bite.
The one thing that wasn't great last night was when we order guacamole to start, they asked if we wanted to chips too and then charged us $5 for them. The guacamole does come with chips because they brought us two different kinds of chips in different baskets (one with the Guac and one came with a little dish of salsa. This seemed a little shifty on their part & it's worth being aware of.
Otherwise, a beautiful experience here as always.

Service was attentive and lovely, the food was delicious, and the place cozy.
The waitress had great recommendations and everything was spot on from the mango margarita to the churros.

This usually is my favorite go to restaurant place. Anytime I have a friends come into town I would show them this place because I always enjoyed it. I have had the chilaquiles verdes probably over 50 times here and the pozole rojo. We ordered about $100 worth of food. Immediately I noticed the chilaquiles seemed different than normal and the pozole seemed like it was very old. Like 3-4 days old. This was the only thing I ate that day. The next day in the morning I got severe food poisoning and was throwing up blood the entire morning and lunch. Never had this issue with Amorelia before but after going to this place for almost over 4 years. I’m extremely disappointed. Proof of the picture below. It seemed like the food they served us was expired

Service was okay. The food had no flavor for being that it is Mexican. The lack of flavor in vegetarian dishes was the downfall for us. We enjoyed one plate of quesadillas and that was basically it. I don’t recommend the chayote dish or the chile relleno. Vegetarian dishes didn’t seem to be fully vegetarian.

Three of us came in on a Tuesday around 5. The restaurant is welcoming semi rustic. There are TVs, so I got to watch the Angels game. There was 1 person at the bar and a couple at another table, Our server was nice and attentive. We each got the happy hour tacos 3 for $10. We also ordered chips and salsa. We each got 2 margaritas. We enjoyed everything. Great deals for Happy Hour. I would recommend.
