The place is OK for the price, but just yesterday I came here because they have a promotion on Tuesdays, and many plates are at a discount. I was ordering to go and the lady while I was reading the menu the cashier (old lady) was quick to suggest a plate that was not even in the menu, every plate has a number and she entered another number in the register, she was trying to charge me almost $21 when she knows everyone is there that day for the specials. Then I told her I want to have one of the dinner plates and she was again quick to suggest (she said, oh what you want is number 14 or so) one of the only two exception plates that are not in special that day, yes 2 out of like 20 specials and she wants me to buy that one exception, and doesn't even mention they have specials that day.
Shame on her for trying to take advantage of me just because I looked like I didn't know what to order.
On another occasion I had that and another lady taking care of my order and half the meat was tastless as if they only put salt in one half of it and my portions where less than usual. When the 2 young guys are working they know how to prepare food. There is a very sweet and attentive young girl working as a cashier and server and she is also great.
They have a sign outside the window that says specials everyday, but so far every day I go they have 2 or 3 plates in special that are the same price and the same thing than on the regular menu, so I think the only truly special day is Tuesday.

Maybe I'm just spoiled by the delicious mexican food in Houston but this place wasn't very good. The chips were very hard. The salsa was ok. My son got a chicken quesadilla and it was soggy and nasty. None of us would eat it. The beans and rice were pretty tasteless. My husband enjoyed his nachos. The cashier was friendly and the prices would be reasonable if food was good.

I once learned n school, (it takes 10 years to get a customer and 10 seconds to lose one). I've been coming here for 30 years(no more) this WAS my favorite Mexican restaurant in CA. Something has happened here the machaca burrito is mostly beans. I don't recognize anyone working?( New owners maybe). Service is slow . Below is my old review!
Nothing fancy just awesome food. My new favorite item is the beef (shredded) and potato burrito. It is drippy/sloppy/delicious. It must be eatin w/a fork.

Bean tostada is amazing! Great salsa, chips and service too! The green Chile burrito is my absolute favorite! The staff is super friendly! This is a local favorite of mine!

I don’t live in Cali anymore 🥲 but we loved Carnitas and my bosses and coworkers prob still go! The chicken enchiladas was my go to and only for many many years! So affordable and family owned! Love that I see the owner and his wife in these pics! Como estan? Extraño el area la gente chevre y la comida hecha por Uds! Que Dios lo bendiga con largs vida! 🙏🏼
