I don't frequent San Juan Capistrano that often, but when I do, I always like to stop by El Adobe de Capistrano restaurant. Hoping to relive my last taste test here, gone are the delicious dishes they have. The Chile Colorado, off the menu. The black bean soup, gone. What was available lacked any earth shattering experience. Let's start with the good. The Chicken pasole soup was delicious. Well season, not over cooked so the hominy beans are not hard, or overly soggy. The refried beans were tasty and well seasoned. Not mushy, and not liquefied like other do. Unfortunately, the other dishes did not meet the same standards. The Chile Verde pork tasted like the pork was left it sitting in the lime marinade for too long. All you can taste is lime, and not in a good way. The short rib tacos were shredded beef, not the juicy cubes that you think when they list short ribs. Two were over fried. Gone is the love the restaurant once had. I'll have to find another location to dine at when visiting SJC. $45.24 without tip.

Delicious 😋 food, wonderful service, and a beautiful atmosphere. Will absolutely return. I had a carne asada burrito without beans, and instead of substituting it with too much rice, they equally increased meat, rice, and cheese. Went on a business lunch. Will return for date night soon with hubby.

El Adobe exceeded our expectations for our wedding day! Sianna and Danny were invaluable in planning our perfect celebration, expertly managing everything from venue layout to guest dietary needs. They took care of us from day one: we had a delicious food tasting session, a his & her special cocktail selection session, and table/venue layout session. The bar and catering staff were exceptional, and our guests couldn't stop raving about the delicious food. We loved using the charming Casita for preparations, which also provided a stunning backdrop for photos. El Adobe offers an unbeatable combination of quality, affordability, and attention to detail. If you're looking for a wedding venue that will make your special day truly unforgettable, look no further than El Adobe!

We reserved the old jail cell room downstairs, it was perfect for our meeting. The food was good, huge portions and reasonable prices.

Almost everything was good. Service was excellent. The carne asada was flavorful and cooked just like I ordered. The enchilada was perfect.
The appetizer that is like shrimp cocktail mixed with salsa was not for me. Too sweet
