I've dined here more than a few times, and every time has been enjoyable. With so many flavors and styles of ramen out there, it's only fair to say that opinions will rise. As for my tastes, I like tonkotsu and shoyu-style ramen in general. The Kita Kata style mainly has pork broth, with shio, miso, and shoyu bases, which are all light and flavorful. It's not a heavy, creamy broth like tonkotsu. The noodles were wavey, thicker, and had a nice, slurpable chew. They also have vegan and veggie ramen options.
My favorites ramens are Kita Kata, Tsukemen, and Green Chili, as well as monthly specials like the Mizore ramen with yuzu chili paste, which gives it a refreshing citrus note. I usually add seasoned eggs and customize with other toppings depending on my mood. The lunch combos are great for adding a little appetizer to your ramen choice. The fried chicken (karaage) and pan-fried gyoza are tasty additions.
The menu also includes kids’ ramens, rice bowls, curry dishes, and alcoholic drinks (beers and sake)!
The atmosphere is chill, and the service is kind and attentive. It gets busy during peak hours, so prepare to wait if you come during those times. There's also plenty of parking around the plaza. Can’t wait to come back! Kampai!

The food is not astounding, but not bad either. It tastes a lot more Chinese than I would normally expect from a Ramen restaurant though. The Boiled Veggie Ramen especially, is straight up a Chinese noodle dish I'm pretty sure. Their fried chicken dish/karage came in chunks the size of my palm. Not necessarily a bad thing (it tasted fine), but it did make it a bit hard to fit in my mouth.

It was a very busy Sunday at 530 and everything was fantastic. We (party of 2) had a mix up with the open table list but it was handled quickly and courteously by the host. Our orders were taken and ramen was served promptly. The ramen here is the best I've had in the surrounding area. I'd have to drive to SD to top this place. Love it. 👍

During my lunch visit to Kitakata Ramen Ban Nai in Buena Park, I ventured to try the tsukemen ramen, eager for that delightful interplay of cold noodles and hot broth that characterizes the dish. Unfortunately, the execution did not live up to expectations. The noodles themselves were passable, yet the broth lacked the robust heat necessary to contrast sharply with the chilled noodles. Initially served only warm, the broth quickly lost its tepid temperature after just a few dips, diminishing the overall enjoyment of the tsukemen experience.
Despite this culinary misstep, there were definite positives. The service was a standout, with the server/hostess providing a warm, welcoming atmosphere and attentive care throughout the meal. Additionally, the lunch combo offers excellent value, making it a tempting option for those looking to explore other dishes without a hefty price tag.
Based on this experience, I would be inclined to try a different type of ramen on a future visit, hopeful that another selection might showcase the strengths of Kitakata Ramen Ban Nai more fully. The exceptional service and the value of the lunch combo certainly make a return visit worthwhile.
