Our dream began in late 2014, long before we became the “Best Mexican Restaurant in San Juan Capistrano”. It began inside a 17- foot food truck with the burning desire to change the way guests perceived food truck cuisine to be we have always believed that mexican food should be MORE! More complex, modern, enjoyable and healthier for our bodies.
We are delighted to introduce our new partners Maiz Cocina Group, who like us started as a food truck and share our vision and dreams. We are excited for our future and can’t wait to see what GOD has in store for us
As a visitor from Hawaii this is one of my favorite restaurants. I always come back here everytime I visit. The best Mexican cuisine and mixed drinks I have had to be honest! Also the service here is so wonderful, everytime I have came in they are so welcoming , attentive and have so much aloha ! The whole experience all the way around is just amazing I love Sol Agave. I definitely recommend coming here and dining in if you are in the area.
The atmosphere was nice. However, the food was sub par. the chili rellenos were undercooked and hard to cut through. The carnitas were dry tasteless and tough. Waiters were nice and the food looked good. It's a shame it wasn't as good as it looked.
Pretty pricey restaurant, but worth it for special occasions. The chips and bean sauce and salsa that come out as a free appetizer were great. We ordered fish tacos and taquitos and both dishes were very very good. Everything was clean and the presentation and service was good. They have indoor and outdoor seating.
My wife and I stopped in for an early dinner at SOl AGAVE restaurant. We arrived about 4:30pm and there were plenty of empty tables to choose from. Sal was our waiter and greeted us with a big smile. I started with a Jalapeño Strawberry margarita. Very tasty with just the right amount of hot kick! My wife ordered the the filet mignon medallions on rice and I ordered the mahi-mahi fish tacos. It also came with tortilla chips and salsa and some refried beans. The refried beans with the tortilla chips was excellent. I had a bite of my wife’s fillet it was cooked to perfection tender and juicy. The fish tacos were also very good. Sal was very attentive and came and checked on us several times. When you get good service and good food, make sure to leave a very nice tip. I tipped Sal 20% and he earned every penny of it. All in all we had a very enjoyable dinner and I would highly recommend SOl AGAVE restaurant to anyone!
The chips and salsa were good they had some Fred bean dip for the chips. My boyfriend enjoyed his flight of margaritas, he wasn’t to much of a fan of the blueberry drink. He said he really liked the watermelon margarita. The carnitas were okay the meat was very tender and the rice and beans were also good.
