We’ve been coming here since 2010. Our favorite neighborhood Japanese restaurant owned by Nobu-san (who is also the sushi chef). We’ve been loyal customers ever since Nobu-san remembered our names pretty much after our first visit, and without fail he has always greeted us by our names ever since, even if we haven’t been able to go regularly and even if a few years passed in-between visits due to the pandemic. We so appreciate that neighborhood, friendly touch. Sometimes his elderly mom also helps behind the sushi counter, so it’s like eating in a Japanese grandmas kitchen!
We love all the unique and different combos (something for everyone and great value) and other menu items, including sukiyaki you make at the table (like how you do with shabu shabu), ishiyaki seafood (seafood you can grill at the table), and their delicious Japanese rice that you can get with your combos (it’s like a dashi mushroom rice!). Yesterday I ordered the chirashi bowl for the first time and it was so good! We also love all of their Sushi Wazen style sushi’s, especially the scallop (seared with sea salt, lemon juice, yuzu) and jalepeno yellowtail! Sooo good! You can’t go wrong with their special rolls, as well as their daily specials such as their premium sushi combo that comes with uni and sweet shrimp. Even their side salads and miso soup that comes with their meals taste extra good (miso has a umami bonito flavor, and I love their homemade salad dressing!).
Don’t hesitate to come! We really want to support this neighborhood restaurant that offers delicious and unique food, and owned by really good people!

I have not eaten at Sushi Wazen since it opened up, but having moved closer to the area, they have definitely become our number 1 pick for local sushi. The fish quality as well as the skills of the chef was exceptional. The professionality and friendliness of the staff made us feel very comfortable and enjoyed every moment at the restaurant. My only negative critique was that the wait was a tad longer than we would have liked, but they did explain to us that the kitchen chef was not feeling well, and went home. I can't wait to come back again!

Sushi Wazen delivers a satisfactorily above-average sushi experience, though it is hampered by its slower than average service.
Firstly, I must commend the quality of their food. From the freshness of the sashimi to the deliciously prepared sushi rolls, every bite was enjoyable. The taste profiles were balanced, and the variety was appreciable. There's an authenticity to their cuisine that elevates it above the commonplace, making it a cut above your average sushi establishment.
However, a significant detriment to the overall dining experience was the considerable wait time. During my visit, it took an excessive 35 minutes for my order to be served. For individuals looking for a swift lunch option, especially those on a tight schedule due to work, this could pose a serious inconvenience. While it is understandable that good food takes time, the delay seemed inordinate, which detracted from the otherwise pleasant experience.
In conclusion, Sushi Wazen offers above-average sushi in a comfortable environment. However, their service speed could be significantly improved, particularly for customers looking for a quick lunch option. If you're not in a rush and can afford the wait, then you're in for a decent sushi experience, but be warned if you're on a strict timetable.

We had an amazing dinner at this mom and pop restaurant. The quality of fish was really good and everything tasted like an authentic Japanese sushi. I like places where they keep their rolls simple without crazy sauces all over. Dishes may get served a bit slow, since we only saw an elderly couple in the kitchen. We will definitely go back soon!

The food is very good. My favorite was the lobster roll. The owners are really nice people. The place is small and definitely not fancy, but the food and people make it a very good experience. The green tea ice cream was also super yummy!
