The food was perfect.
Gluten free Korean BBQ??? Yes please. It’s been decades since I’ve had Korean spare ribs but not anymore! The bulgogi and the glass noodles were wonderful. Sweet and lots of sesame oil.
If you don’t like sweet and salty meat, you might have a problem, but I loved it. I was surprised the broccoli was cold but I’m assuming that’s the way it is supposed to be. When in Rome. I also loved the fried fish. So many gluten free options and so little time. It’s a bit expensive but worth the price if you have the money or are doing something special like I did.

Umma's K-BBQ in Lake Forest, CA, is an absolute gem. My friend raved about the delicious food, and I couldn’t agree more. Although there's no indoor seating, the outdoor dining area is small, but it’s an acceptable setup shared with some restaurants in a row. We always get our meals to go.
The rewards program is fantastic. You'll receive text messages about 10%-30% discount deals regularly. My wife’s favorite dishes are the GF Kalbi/Beef Combo and the Katsu/Spicy Pork Combo, each served with 4 free sides. The portion sizes are generous.
Next time you're in Lake Forest, CA, Umma's K-BBQ is the place to go!

First time trying and can say the food was great. Everything had flavor. Loved all the sides they offer as well, definitely a good eating spot. The cashier was helpful with showing on how to order properly.

I'm obsessed with this restaurant! Tonight, I tried the fish jun. Great flavor and texture, would try again! I haven't tried all the proteins yet, but my favorites so far are the bulgogi, the meat jun, and you can't go wrong with their kalbi. I recommend getting the combo plate so you can get two choices of protein. It's a large portion, so you can split the combo between two people, or have it as a second meal later. Unless you're like me and shamelessly eat the whole combo plate in one sitting. 😋 For the sides, I usually get the mac salad, chapchae (glass noodles), kimchi (it's probably one of my favorite sources of kimchi), and the fish cake. If I could afford to eat it every day, I would.
